Every year during July, Stampin’ Up holds it annual convention. This is open to demonstators and guests, and is an opportunity for demonstrators from all over the US as well as other countries to get together in Salt Lake City, UT with Corporate leaders to (amongst other things) recognise acheivement, to hear and see new products and ideas.
Convention 2014 is called ‘Inspire, Create, Share’ and one one of the best parts is to swap card ideas with your fellow demonstrators. This year I have made 2 designs (about 25 of each) that I shall be swapping over the next few days. This is the first one and I shall share the second one in a couple of days.
This design would work for a valentine, anniversary or possibly a birthday card. The color combination is Coastal Cabana, Calyso Coral and Smoky Gray, not a combination I would have considered myself but was ‘inspired’ by Stampin’ Up’s color coach
To ‘create‘ this card: the background is stamped using the Hardwood stamp in Versamark then heat embossed with Smoky Slate embossing powder.
The ‘card candy’ uses the Groovy Love stamp set and Calypso Coral ink. I punched a 2′ circle in Calypso Coral and a heart from Coastal Cabana card using the Sweetheart Punch added some liquid adhesive before sprinkling with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. The small heart was cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper with the heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack.
The ribbon is the 1/4 cotton ribbon in Whisper White which I dyed by soaking it in a pot of water and Coastal Cabana refill ink for a couple of hours, once it was dry I quickly rubbed it over with a warm iron.
I am really looking forward to ‘sharing’ over the next few days.
If you’d like any of the supplies, to shop, or to get a catalog, please feel free to contact me, and if you’re thinking of joining Stampin’ Up! and my team I’d most definitely like to hear from you.
