When I packed up our house in June and July my last thought was about the upcoming holidays. I usually decorate for the autumn, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, suddenly September arrived and all my holiday decorations were in deep storage, now it is October and my decorations are still in storage…….. something had to be done………..!
Last month I was designing my Scrapbook layouts, as the scrap camp was for October I had chosen a Halloween theme. I like to use punch art for my embellishments and as I was working on them I decided I was going to make a frame art piece for our temporary apartment so started to make 2 of each of them one for the scrapbook layout and one for my frame, here is the result!
The frame is an 8 x 8″ shadow box (from Walmart), background is Basic Grey card. Each of the squares are 2 1/4 x 2/1 4 in Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron & Perfect Plum ~ these are all fantastic Halloween colors. I also used a couple of pieces of DSP (designer series paper) from the Motley Monsters pack, these were cut to 2 x 2 before being attached to the background.
The Skull and Crossbones, Raven, Bat and Spooky Tree images came from the stamp set in September’s My Paper Pumpkin kit as well a a few of the sequins I had left when I made the kit.
I was delighted with the result and it now sits on the counter top in the apartment.
