We were invited to a first birthday party on the weekend before Christmas. It is very difficult to know what to buy for a one year old, so I wimped out a bought a gift-card ~ I figured his Mum would know exactly what to get and choose something she liked as well 🙂
Rather than simply give the gift-card in the little holder they give you at the store I made a birthday card/holder using the new Mini Treat Bag Thinlit from the new Stampin’ Up! Occasions mini catalog*…………….
I used the Marina Mist from the Background Designer Series Paper Stacks, you can get two of these mini treat bags from one 12 x 12 sheet.
The theme of the party was a ‘Christmas ONEderland‘ so a snowman was the perfect choice for the embellishment on the bag.
The snowman was inspired by Traci Cornelius, and uses the 2 1/2 inch circle for the body and 1 3/4 circle for his head. The eyes, nose and buttons were punched using the small eyes from the Owl Builder punch. The hat used the Curly Label and Word Window punch, some 2 way glue pen and a sprinkling of Dazzling Diamonds glitter completed the little guy.
The inside is Whisper White cut to 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 2″ to form the little pocket for the gift card. The ‘for you‘ is part of the Treat Bag thinlits set, and his name was cut using the Perfect Print Alphabet Bigz die (the letters are about 1 1/4 ” high)
*The new Occasions mini catalog is launched on January 6th ~ let me know if you would like your free copy………
