I was looking for some inspiration for my card classes and came across this Step Block card. I like to introduce new folds and techniques in my classes and was fascinated by this fold and knew my ‘ladies’ would also like it. However, I was not sure what to do with it until I was given some mini calendars back in October and the two came together into December’s card class.
As it is also a calendar it can be used for the whole year!
The decorative paper is from the All is Calm DSP, I have used this in a lot of projects over the last few months and I was able to use up the last of this particular design as part of the class. I can be accused of being something of a hoarder when it comes to DSP, I resist using it because I don’t want to ‘run’ out of it!!! I tuck it away and then ‘discover’ it again a few months later – so it is something of a challenge to use as much as possible before it retires.
The finished size of the card is 4 1/2 x 6 so will not fit into a regular envelope. So I used the Envelope Punch Board to make a custom envelope to fit. The envelope required card starting @ 9 1/2 x 9 1/2 so I trimmed down 12 x 12 Whisper White. The decoration uses the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and the ‘2015’ comes from the Project Life Day to Day stamp set.
Here are the main supplies used:
Happy Stamping 🙂

Cindy, I didn’t see your usual “recipe” for the step block card. Did I miss it? I would like to know how to score and where to cut. I loved this card. Thanks, Toni
