I probably make more thank you cards than for any other occasion and I usually make at least 2 of the same design ~ once you have out the inks and ribbon it is just as easy to do everything twice.
I made this card for a friend – her colors are pink and purple so Perfect Plum with a ‘swish’ of Pink Pirouette seam binding is the perfect combination. This is the ‘thank you’, the second card was ‘Sympathy’ which was made for one of my husband’s work colleagues. (did not get a picture of that one though)
The stamp ‘Swallowtail’, is a single background stamp and will fit snuggly onto a 5 1/4 x 4″ layer but I prefer to stamp off to one side. I used Perfect Plum ink for both the butterfly and the sentiment. This stamp is also great for heat embossing.
Base card: Perfect Plum cut 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored @ 4 1/4
Layer: Very Vanilla cut 4 1/2 x 3 1/2, edges sponged with Perfect Plum
Sentiment is from the ‘Lots of Thanks’ Stamp Set (about to retire but available until May 26th) stamped on Very Vanilla then cut with 1″ punch, then layered on Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper cut with Postage Stamp Punch (about to retire 😦 )
I also added a liner to the inside of the card as it is a little hard to write on the darker card stock ~ unless you have a white gel pen 🙂
