I promised to share more cards using the Diagonal Slash technique – here are 4 more using the same sheet of DSP from Monday’s Post. These cards are based on an idea from Patty Bennett, which is perfect for my on-going commitment to break out my DSP!
You can see I started to get a little more adventurous with the embellishments on these cards as well as making one a landscape rather than the portrait ones so far.
Card Base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Hello Honey card~ scored @ 4 1/4 or 11 x 4 1/4 ~ scored at 5 1/2 for the one on the left
DSP Layer: 4 x 4 Farmers Market DSP~ you can get 9 card fronts from one 12 x 12 sheets!
Each piece of DSP was simply cut on the diagonal then attached to the card top and bottom of the base card with some snail adhesive, leaving the contrasting gap in the middle.
The embellishment greeting is from the Suite Sayings Stamp set stamped in Black Archival ink and Pear Pizzazz ink.
Card Base: 11 x 4 1/4 Hello Honey Card ~ scored @ 5 1/2
The DSP is the flip side of the cards I shared earlier this week ~ just need to take care the veggies are the right way up when you attach to the base card! You can see the ‘slashes’ go in different directions to add a little visual contrast.
Once again the greeting is from the Suite Sayings set using Blackberry Bliss ink then cut with the Decorative Label punch.
I also used the silver and gold metallic thread on these 2 cards to add a little bling! I used the ‘soon to be retired’ extra large oval punch, Note Tag punch and the Itty Bitty Accent punch pack for my embellishments
I have a small confession ~ I used this as an opportunity to use up some of the retiring ribbon 1/4″ cotton Pumpkin Pie and Pear Pizzazz.
So now I have 8 cards from sheet of 12 x 12 DSP and still 1 spare piece of 4 x 4 to work into one more card.
Here are the main supplies used for these cards – so go ahead and click one of the pictures to take you to my on-line store – open 24/7 and have it all shipped right to your door!
please RSVP me for both May classes – evening times
