Oh! this was a day I promised myself during tax season ~ to simply play with some card and ribbon and have a good ol’ footle. (an expression my dear Aunt used to do something without a particular purpose but simply to DO!)
During a visit to Lansing MI back in February I saw a fellow papercrafter had decorated a candle and I was so taken with it I wanted to have a go myself.
The candle measures 6″ high by 3″ across and is one of those that have a waxy sort of feel and appearance but it has a little light inside which is perfect for decorating as it will not catch fire!
There was no pattern to follow ~ I just heaped pink and vanilla on it and scattered pearls in as many places that they would go.
Most of the work was done using the Big Shot and dies:
- The lacy background is the So Detailed Thinlits Dies
- The flowers and leaves are cut from the, soon to retire, Botanical Builders Framelit Dies
- and the front panel using the Layering Ovals Framelits.
I enjoyed my footle immensely and now have a pretty home decor piece. I hope you like today’s project – please let me know in a comment ~ by using that little link just under the title.
