I do love flowers – I grow them in my garden, in the past I have made them out of flowerpaste (gumpaste) and made them from paper.
I have to be very cautious about choosing stamp sets out of the catalog ~ my eyes are always drawn to the flower sets to the exclusion of others, great for me but not everyone has the same passion as me! The other day I found out just how cautious I had been, when I wanted to create a card with some flowers on it – I could not find a stamp set on my shelf with a flower in it!!!
So I improvised with the Pansy Punch and the Lovely Laurels Thinlets and a sheet of Vellum Card.
Card base: 11 x 5 1/2 Powder Pink Card ~ scored @ 5 1/2
Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Whisper White Card
Ink: Lemon Lime Twist and Powder Pink
The Lovely Laurels Thinlets has a right and left die to cut the ‘leaves’ I cut one of each , using the Precision Base Plate with the Big Shot, out of Vellum Card, then sponged the back of each piece with Lemon Lime Twist before attaching to the card with a couple of glue dots.
The flower is three layers cut from the Vellum Card with the Pansy punch, each was flipped over and sponged with Powder Pink, then stacked with a glue dot between each layer. Then 3 layers using the little 5 pointed flower (calyx) from the Blossom Builder Punch, but left the natural color of the vellum card.
The greeting comes from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set – but you could use one from any set that says what you want it to say.
A twist of silver thread and a smattering of rhinestones and it was done.
I hope you like today’s project – please let me know in a comment ~ by using that little link just under the title.
