Christmas in July Blog Hop

Welcome to the Christmas in July Blog Hop – a collection of ideas from Stampin’ UP! demonstrators all over the globe showcasing  the brand new and fantastic ‘Carols of Christmas’ bundle which has a stamp set with the same name and the ‘Card Front Builder Thinlets Dies. You will have come from Betty Bickford ~ I just hope my card is up to the same standard.

Each of us has been asked to design a card using this bundle and other products from the current 2017 – 2018 annual catalog.

When I saw the bundle for the first time it literally screamed GOLD heat embossing to me so that was my starting point, I chose very traditional colors of Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla to compliment the gold.

Card base:  11 x 4 1/4 Very Vanilla Extra Thick Card ~ scored @ 5 1/2

Layer 1:  5 1/4 x 4 Cherry Cobbler Card ~ run thru the Big Shot with two of the  Card Front Builder dies.

Layer 2: 5 1/4 x 4 Gold Foil ~ I cut this ‘scant’ so that it does not peek out from behind the Cherry Cobbler layer.

Ink Colors:  Versamark for the embossing and Cherry Cobbler for inside and the envelope.

In order to cut the design into the front layer I placed each die separately on the card, run it thru the Big Shot – the two borders then the flowery corner ~ I wanted to carefully place each piece to leave room for the ‘Deck the Halls’. A double bow of the new 3/8 metallic-edge ribbon (first time of using that) and I was finished, I just love it!

Beginning Tuesday, August 1, you can purchase the Carols of Christmas Bundle (or purchase the stamp set or dies separately) before the Holiday Catalog begins. What a great way to get a head start on your Christmas projects!
