Today’s card was inspired by the Playing with Patterns Combo Ribbon Pack! ~ the combination of the Coastal Cabana and Night of Navy Ribbons was just perfect. This is the card I created for my niece’s 18th birthday earlier this month. I am not too much up on the likes and dislikes of young people reaching their majority but I know she is really not into lots of frills.

There is only a tiny bit of stamping for my greeting which comes from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set.

• Base Card: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Night of Navy Card ~ scored @ 2 3/4 and 8 1/4
• Layer 1: 2 pieces 5 3/8 x 2 5/8 Playing with Patterns DSP
• Ink Color: Night of Navy

I chose a simple gatefold card then added an embellishment featuring the delicate Square Vellum Doilies. To give it something firm to hold onto I added a circle of Night of Navy card cut with one of the larger Layering Circle Dies.

The ’18’ is cut with the Playful Alphabet Dies, I have been so excited these are in the Annual Catalog, I have used them such a lot and they are just the right size for a card without being overpowering.

The little blossoms are made using the Confetti Flowers Punch and topped off with the two blues that are in the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
