A few days ago I shared a gift card holder featuring the Tropical Escape DSP, to make them I had to trim down the 6 x 6 sheets and was left with some strips that were just begging to be used! I was also ready to make my ‘thank yous’ for my lovely customers who had shopped for their Stampin’ Up supplies with me during March ~ so paired up my little strips with the super cute Narrow Notecards & Envelopes
The Flourishing Phrases stamp set has a whole bunch of very useful greetings along with a lovely big floral stem, flower and leaf image that allows you to create some great cards.
Today I have chosen to use the with Sympathy one, however the colors and design could work very well with any of the greetings in the set. A sympathy card is not one that we particularly want to make but there is a need and this image is really quite soothing.
We all have to face the fact that there will be times we need to send a card to someone who has lost a family member or dear friend – not the type of cards we would put on top of our list but necessary all the same, I think they are some of the hardest cards to create – I guess because they are so sad but my hope is it will bring just a little comfort.
Today’s card brings together two stamp sets ~ Sheltering Tree and Kindness and Compassion which has 8 different sayings in a lovely script.
We have a new embossing folder in the 2018 -2019 Annual Stampin’ UP! catalog, simply called ‘ Tufted‘ I wanted to use it so much but for it not to get lost in too much other detail.
Once again a gentle stroll thru my stamp sets and dies I spied the Flourishing Phases stamp set and the coordinating Flourishing Thinlits Dies – neither of which had been used for a while.
Sympathy cards are some of the hardest cards to make and send – because it recognizes sadness. But they can also bring comfort to the person on the recieving end as well as for the sender of the card – that they have acknowledged the loss of a loved one and the sorrow they are experiencing.
Today I chose to use the Touches of Texture Stamp set, because I just love the ‘cornflower’ image and the ‘scattered dots’ stamp within in the set. Continue reading
Sympathy cards are the one type of card that we would really not have to make but they are probably the ones that bring the most comfort to the recipient ~ they know someone is thinking of them at a difficult time in their life.
The Thoughts and Prayers stamp set is a one to have in your stash, not only is it suitable for bereavement it also has some lovely sentiments for get well and thinking of you…. and what can I say about the two images – one the most elegant tree and the other a lovely ‘swooshy’ flowery branch – which I have used on an anniversary card before. Thursday June 1st the new Stampin’ Up! catalog goes live and with it our new In-colors. Stampin’ Up has a palette of 40 colors and neutrals but every year we get 5 new colors which are with us for 2 years and then they are gone. I am sad when one set retires but excited that we will have something new to play with. As a demonstrator I get my hands on the new colors before they are launched and because I was able to go to the Demonstator event known as ‘On-Stage’ at the beginning of April I have had some of the new goodies in my hands for nearly 2 months ~ which has given me a chance to have a really good play with them and I shall be sharing more over the coming weeks.
But today a card giving a sneak peak of one of the new in-colors ~ Powder Pink Continue reading
