Tone-on-Tone Technique with Tasteful Textures

I am sharing another technique today – Tone-on-Tone stamping along with a video to show you how easy it is to do!

I first came across the term ‘tone-on-tone ‘ when I  came to live in  the US some 18 years ago.  Due to visa restrictions I was not allowed to work ~ I had to find something to do with my time – so I found myself a quilting class,  the list of supplies included some fabric called ‘tone on tone neutral’, which meant nothing to me at the time, until the really kind lady in the fabric stop helped me out 🙂

I am using one of the new stamp sets from the 2019 -2020 Stampin’ UP! catalog, Tasteful Textures, as well as showcasing a couple of the new ribbons and embellishments which were in my recent ribbon and embellishment product share ~ click here for details

Sponging Technique with Tasteful Textures

Today I am late with my post – to be honest I am a couple of days late – but I have a good reason!

On Saturday evening our house was struck by lightening!  A big flash, bang and the strong smell of ozone – it fried our cable service (internet, TV), all the switching powers supplies for various electronic devices ( including our phone service!) then a TV and the dishwasher! So we have spent the last couple of days piecing our lives back together – Friday we go shop for a dishwasher! 🙂

I have a video technique to share today which shows a simple but very effective technique – sponging – I use it a lot in my cards and other projects and I think it benefits from revisiting from time-to-time.

Stamparatus Technique ~ Wreath Video Tutorial

This is the 8th in my series using the Stamparatus by Stampin’ UP!  The Stamparatus is Stampin’ UP!’s latest tool  and an absolute must have for all stampers.  It helps you perfectly align your stamp images, stamp multiples of the same project quickly and accurately and gets complete ink coverage – ‘cos you can do a ‘do-over’

I am using the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set for this technique as I find it I get a better result  if I have a lot of smaller images rather than a few larger ones.  It also gives me the chance to use lots of different ink colors as well.

A Little Treat – Decorated Ghirardelli Square Video Tutorial

I am so grateful for my lovely customers who shop with me for their Stampin’ Up Supplies.  I try to give a little gift each month and for April I  chose to decorate some Ghirardelli Chocolate Squares.

These are so quick and easy to make, you can get 6 out of a single sheet of card and 36 pieces of DSP from a 12 x 12 sheet.  The colors I chose to use are directly from the Happiness Blooms DSP and the greeting from the A Good Day Stamp Set (which is about to retire so get your order in as soon as you can so as not to miss out (there is a link below)

Poppy Parade, Crackle Paint ~ Just a Note…..

Sometimes you just need a card so you can send a message, nothing specific but just a note.  It could say thinking of you inside or thank you, speedy recovery ~ I guess just about anything that will make someone’s day when they open the envelope.

The Crafting Forever stamp set has a stamp with just 3 pens and I love it, I have paired it with the Crackle Paint Background Stamp then rooted around in my stash to find the “Just a Note…. greeting which is from one of the Saleabration sets (now no longer available 😦 )

Triple Layer Stamping ~ Video Tutorial

I do love a good technique! I know Triple Layer Stampin’ has been around for a while but it is always good to revisit and bring it up to date with our current stamp sets and colors.

I have chosen the Tuscan Vineyard stamp set for this card – it has lots of different images that work very well with this technique, and paired it with Itty Bitty Birthday Wishes Stamp Set for my greeting.  I am also thinking that it would make a great card for the fellas in our lives, birthday, graduation or even Father’s Day!
