Continuing my journey to develop my Stampin Blends skills today I use a heat embossed image to color rather than an ink one. I created two different versions using the same stamp set and card layout then switched out my colors, so one is very traditional and the second …. well it is just a little different! Continue readingI promised to share my voyage in learning how to use Stampin’ Blends. In this 6th video in the series, I share how to color ribbon to match your project and features the utterly cute Nuts about Squirrels Stamp Set.
I have shared before that often my ribbon drawer is the starting point for choosing colors for my projects but sometimes there just isn’t the color I need ! No problem ~ I can color up some of my own! As I explain in my video, today’s card is to welcome my great-niece into the family and I was looking for something cute but not pink so Pale Papaya and Calypso Coral it is and although I designed it for a new baby I think it would work for just about any occasion!

Continue readingLast month I posted my first three videos introducing Stampin’ Blends, as I explained at that time, Stampin Blends are alcohol markers and have been available for a few years now. Although I have some of them I had not really explored them very much. When one of my lovely customers asked me a question on them I was unable to give her a good answer and made the decision I was going to teach myself how to use them!
Rather than practice in private – I decided I was going to practice on video, starting with the basics and developing my skills in front of you, my sweet readers! So the fourth in the series introduces the Color Lifter to create a pretty Western Bluebird using the Free As A Bird Stamp Set – enjoy!

Continue readingEach time a new Stampin’ UP! catalog is issued I go thru it to see all the new goodies, each time I think I have seen everything that is available and then I start to discover things I missed! One of those is the focus of today’s card – tucked away on page 165 is a metal plate which really does not seem much – until you run it thru your Cut and Emboss Machine with a piece of card – and there it is ……. a beautiful, delicate pattern of little stitched leaves,
To bring the botanical theme thru I have embellished the card with a few flowers and greeting from the Flowers of Friendship Stamp Set and coordinating Flowers and Leaves Punch ( choose the bundle and save 10% – see the link below 🙂 )
Continue readingOne of the most stunning set of decorative papers in the 2021 – 2022 Annual Stampin’ UP! catalog is the Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper. It has beautiful neutrals which are the backdrop to silver, gold and copper gilding. Rather than using just one of the designs I looked for a fancy fold card where I could display as many of the different designs as possible and that is the card I share today.
I used the other coordinating products for this paper, the Elegantly Said Stamp Set and Elegant Tag Punch. I also chose to use Basic Gray and Gray Granite Card as a background.
