Blueberry Pie ~ party favors

I always think blue, silver and white as New Year colors ~ not exclusively though, as I also have a Christmas tree decorated with ornaments in those colors.

I wanted to make some party favours for New Year and decided to use an idea of Connie Stewart’s from Simply Simple Stamping to make them in the shape of a slice of pie, and since I was using different shades of blue I have dubbed it ‘blueberry pie’  Continue reading

Punch Art 3 ~ Graduation Owl

The third in my series of punch art embellishments is the graduation owl.

We start with the Owl Punch and some Crumb Cake card stock to make the body then Whisper White and Basic Black to make his eyes.  The large flower in the Boho Blossom punch was used to cut Crumb Cake ‘wings’ which was then cut in half.  Soft Suede ink was sponged onto the body and wings.

The medium flower from the Boho Blossom blossom punch was used to cut the ‘beak’ in Tangarine Tango card stock then trimmed to a single petal which was attached behind the eyes with a glue dot.

The cap was made by using the oval punch to cut Basic Black then cut in half.  Then shaped with 1/2 inch circle punch from the Itty Bitty punch pack.  The top of the cap started as a 1″ square then trimmed to make the diamond shape before attaching to the base with a stampin dimensional. The tassle was made with Cherry Cobbler bakers twine, then a white gel pen to make the little ‘twinkle’ in his eye.

He was then was used as an embellishment on the scrapbook page.

Decorated Gift Bag and Tissue

This time of year we are wrapping gifts in preparation for the Big Day.  I gave up wrapping in paper several years ago…. the shapes were too weird to wrap neatly or the parcels looked too lumpy and unappetising!.  I started to use gift bags and tissue paper, a much quicker and easier (and neater!) solution.

Gift bags and tissue can be expensive so I buy plain bags from the craft stores and plain tissue from the dollar store ( 40 sheets for $1) Then I get out my inks and stamp sets and decorate to my hearts’ content.

I have a number of hostess gifts this year so this is the bag/tissue combination I  have been working on today…..

The stamp set is Joyful Christmas and I used Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Crushed Curry inks. Now I have some lovely, elegant gifts to take with me.

I hope this gives you an idea for your future gift wrapping……..
