Delightfully Detailed Notes Cards and Stylish Christmas ~ Sweet and Simple

Back in June when the 2018 – 2019 Stampin’ UP! annual catalog was released I ordered a packet of the Delightfully Detailed Note Cards and Envelopes – I love to have note cards on hand,  they are so very handy as they are ready cut and scored, the difference with these ones is the front of each is already printed and ready for layering or embellishing.

They were  designed to co-ordinate with the Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper and I have used oodles of that and shared them on this page, but today I have paired them with the Stylish Christmas Stamp set to create a not so Christmassy card – in fact it was my thank you card for the wonderful folks who shopped for their SU goodies with me during October.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone

I just wanted to reach out to all my lovely readers to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving – although both my husband and I are from the UK we have both embraced the annual tradition here in the US of looking inwardly and being thankful for the things in your life.

I am grateful for health, family and friends, both those who I know personally and those I who I know virtually – thank you for following me and choosing me to shop for your Stampin’ UP! products.

Today I am sharing another card using the Shimmer Paint Resist Technique – this time using the Bright Copper Shimmer Paint with the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set…………….. enjoy!

Happy July 4th………. 650th Blog Post

WOW – 650 blog posts since I first started back in July 2013 – so today is a double celebration!  In the early days my posts were few and far between – often times I could not think of what to share, but these days I try very hard to post every other day as well as share video tutorials thru my You Tube channel.

I appreciate you following me, liking my posts and more importantly making comments – it just lets me know that you are all out there and I am not just talking to myself, so please ‘comment ‘ and ‘ like ‘ away – I truly  appreciate your giving me some of your time!

Now – back to business…………….. I am not a great one for going onto  Pinterest – not that I don’t love the whole concept but I loose track of time and suddenly 2 or 3 hours have passed and I have little to show for it!!  So I ration myself ~ maybe for about 30 mins or so.

Fool’s Gold Technique – Video Tutorial

I have a monthly technique class and am always looking for new ways of using paper, stamps and ink.  The Marbled Background Stamp has been in my stash for a few months and I wanted to use it for ‘something’ but not sure what – so I played for a while starting with stamping Memento Black ink and a quarter sheet of Whisper White card.

It was OK but was not floating my boat so I pulled out the Artisan Textures Stamp Set and randomly stamped over the surface with Versamark and sprinkled with Copper Embossing Powder then setting it with the Heat Gun……………. and there it was …………… a pretty cool effect that I have dubbed ‘Fool’s Gold’ as it reminds me of the rock of the same name – a throwback to my university degree where I majored in the Earth Sciences.

Black Ice Technique and Falling Flowers

Today I am sharing the  Black Ice Technique – it gives such a unique focal point to a card.  It uses the foil card, I used the Champagne Foil  but  to be honest it was hard to stop making them and it works perfectly on the Silver, Gold and Copper Foils as well.

I think you could use any stamp set for this technique ~ I chose Falling Flowers Stamp Set

Oh! and I am so glad that Stampin’ UP! are bringing back  Black Stazon – because this is a solvent based ink it dries very quickly allowing you to complete the technique so much quicker. 🙂 Continue reading

Dramatic Painted Harvest ~ Thank you

I just love the card I am sharing today – well I love all the cards I make, share and send but the one today just shouts out at me, it has everything I love to put on a card, layers, bling, ribbon and finally that it uses the Painted Harvest Stamp set carried over from the 2017 Holiday Catalog, I have used this stamp set in all sorts of ways, with all sorts of color combinations but today I am using dramatic black and white with just a smidge of grey. Embossing Paste Technique # 2 ~ Heat Embossing video tutorial

When the 2017 – 2018 Annual Catalog was launched in June there was a new product tucked away on Page 201 ~ Embossing Paste!  It was on my first order and I was so excited when it arrived, however I was also excited about the other goodies that arrived in the same box!  I set aside the pot of paste and to be honest it went from my mind – especially as Christmas themes started.

I was tidying my workbench (it happens….. rarely but it does happen!) and there was the pot of Embossing Paste waiting patiently for my attention.  What fun I have had with this product, as I explored what could be done with it I thought a few video’s would be fun to share.  Here is the  second of my series where I will share how to Heat Emboss your Embossing Paste! Season of Cheer Ferrero Treat Box ~ Video Tutorial

I have said on many occasions that I love to make 3D items and what can be better than a 3D with chocolate!  I chose to make them in classic Black and White then used the Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper which allowed me to bring in some gold and silver.

This would be perfect for your Christmas tablescape but change up the colors and you can have a treat holder for birthdays, wedding, showers, baby – just about any celebration you can think of. Continue reading

Ribbon of Courage ~ Stampin’ UP!

The Ribbon of Courage stamp set was one I was so thrilled to see in the 2017 – 2018 Annual Catalog, it was inspired by Patty Bennett who is one of Stampin’ UP!’s Million Sales Achiever, and was included on my very first order when the catalog went live on June 1st.

I wanted to make some cards with the set and the coordinating Support Ribbon Framelits and I did google the different Awareness Ribbon colors – there are such a huge range for all different causes, but I decided to go neutral today.
