For the last 4 – 5 years I have designed and enjoyed making my flip over desk calendar for the ladies who came to my classes. As I have done for the last few years I am going to be sharing one at the start of each month. Like last year, I recognize not everyone is into making 3D items so have created a card for each month, using elements from the calendar for that month. .

Continue readingStarting to feel a little better with the allergies, it might be something to do with the fact I am currently in Pennsylvania ~ 1400 miles away from the Mountain Cedar and the tree in our back garden that I am allergic to!!! I have a pretty card to share today inspired by a card sketch from the Sept ~ December 2024 Mini Catalog and , coincidently it is a get well card !!!

Continue readingSometimes we look at a product and get a fixed idea of how to use it, then something comes up that makes you look at it in a different light. Enamel Effects is one of those product, I used it for pearls in a card last year (see below for the link) and as a sort of shimmery, highlight paint in another card (again link below) Both of these are delicate embellishing techniques but today the technique uses Enamel Effects in a BIG way!!!

Continue readingEarlier this year I tripped across the concept of Artist Trading Cards, these are small pieces of art that measures 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 and can be made from various materials, paper, card, ribbon, embellishments exactly the products that Stampin’ UP! offer. They are meant to be swapped, however it struck me that they would make perfect center pieces for a card and that is what I share today – oh and there is a short video on how the trading card came together!

One of the first things I look for in a new catalog is Embossing Folders – they are wonderful to use, stepping up a piece of plain card and making it extraordinary – in fact when I introduce them to new card crafters they get the biggest WOW!
