Baby Frame Art

18 months ago we had a neighborhood block party and 5 ladies found a mutual love of crafts and we decided to get together around my dining room table once a month to make some cards and other 3D items and just visit with one another.

Even though I have now moved away from the neighborhood I still return every month to meet with these lovely ladies, only  now around someone else’s dining room table!!  One of our group is about to become a first-time Mum and we decided that we would make her a gift that each of us could contribute to, we met earlier today and here is the result ……………………………..

The frame is a 9 x 9″ shadow box from Ikea and was inspired by a design by Connie Stewart (thank you, dear lady)  We used Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Soft Sky and a little splash of Daffodil Delight.  We used the ‘Something for Baby’ stamp set and framelits bundle and lots of silver glimmer paper.  The little banner with the soon-to-be newborn’s name was done using MDS (My Digital Studio) printed onto Whisper White card and punched with the banner punch.

We each worked on a few squares each and it took us about 2 1/2 hours from start to finish ~ we then walked around to the expectant Mum home and she was thrilled.

We had a great time together ~ papercrafting bringing people together, to share and to make a difference.
