Happy Birthday…….

Today is our eldest grand-daughter’s 6th birthday, as she lives in England we don’t get to see to much of her, but a card is one way of sharing our delight in her birthday.

It is always a challenge for me to make cards the  ‘littlies’ (as we call them in our family) but when I first saw this Etch-a-sketch card I knew it would be perfect.

photo 1 (4)Again the idea is taken from a swap I received from Jennifer Cotton at the Leadership conference last month, I just put a little bit of my own spin on it.

Measurements are:

  • 8 1/2 x 5 1/4 Whisper White base card, scored @ 4 1/4
  • 5 1/4 x 4 Real Red layer
  • 5 x 3 3/4 Smoky Slate layer
  • Scraps of Champagne and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper
  • Real Red and Basic Grey ink pads

The images are stamped onto the Smoky Slate layer with Basic Grey ink, the stamps sets were ‘ Hooray It’s your Day’ , Balloon Bash and Big Day (FREE from the Sale-a-bration catalog)

The frame was cut using the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits and the Smoky Grey layer adhered to the back with Snail adhesive before attaching it to the base card.

The champagne glimmer paper was cut with 1″ circle punch then 3/4 circle for the Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper.  These were layered then attached to the base card with Stampin Dimensionals.

I was pretty pleased with the result and hope she was as well……. Happy Birthday Ella… Love Grandpa and Gramma xx
