The cotton paper was introduced in the 2015 ~ 2016 Annual Catalog by Stampin’ Up! – it had a lot of really lovely new things – one of which was this cotton paper. I was not sure what to expect when I ordered it but it is always good to try something new……. right?
I always send a thank you card to each of my lovely customers and what better way to show a new product that to showcase it on a card.
A few of the cards……………. the design was inspired by Connie Stewart and I put my twist on it!
Card Base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 ~ Whisper White scored @ 4 1/4. I used the new heavy weight card that was also introduced in the new annual catalog.
Layer 1 : 3 x 3 Bermuda Bay card
Layer 2: 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 run thru the Big Shot with the Zig Zag embossing folder
Ink color: Bermuda Bay
The greeting is from the Lots of Thanks Stamp set
The Cotton Paper comes in a pack of 4 colors, I used:
Crushed Curry (flower centers) with the Petite Petals and Itty Bitty Punch Pack Punches
Bermuda Bay (Petals) with the Pansy Punch
Cucumber Crush for the ‘leaves’ with the Fun Flower Punch
The paper is thin but sturdy and I was able to cut out 5 – 6 layers at a time for the petals and leaves and 3 – 4 layers on the smaller punches used for the flower centers.
Once cut, I used a piercing tool to make a little hole in the center of each, again while they were still stacked, the paper is really that thin! I then scrunched up the centers and petals then threaded them onto a mini brad after flattening them out a little then adding the leaves to the back.
The flower was attached with a stampin dimensional, a few Bermuda Bay sequins scattered and attached with a little dot of liquid glue!
I hope you enjoyed the cards, please feel free to leave a comment ~ just to let me know you stopped by 🙂
