Recently I have shared ideas for Thanksgiving and Christmas – and here we are in the thick of Holiday preparations! But you know, there are still folks who have birthdays this time of year ……. have you tried to find a birthday card in the stores? – there are some but not a great selection BUT when you make your own cards you can create just the perfect card for the person celebrating!
I love the One Sheet Wonder (OSW) technique for making cards – basically you use one sheet of Designer Series Paper as your starting point then depending on its size you can make any number of cards.
Here is a set made with a 6 x 6 sheet from the Cherry on Top DSP stack. I chose one sheet and by cutting in a certain way was able to make 4 cards.
Once I had chosen my paper I selected a couple of the colors from it – for this set ~ Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush. The neutral layer is Very Vanilla embossed with the Lucky Stars embossing folder. Each piece of DSP was backed with card stock cut 1/4 inch wider.
Greeting from Tag Talk Stamp Set with some 1/4 Whisper White cotton ribbon and rhinestones for embellishment.
The greeting has been layered onto a 2″ circle of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and Star.
The greeting comes from the “Amazing Birthday” stamp set with some Watermelon Wonder 1″ Dotted Lace Trim
Again this greeting is from the ‘Amazing Birthday’ stamp set, for this one I used Stampin Markers to give me the alternating colors. Again I pulled in some Cucumber Crush 1″ Dotted Lace Trim and a mini star punched from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper. I just love this glimmer paper ~ it gives a lovely subtle sparkle to everything.
I hope you enjoyed the cards – let me know your thoughts below …………
