Last week I shared a One Sheet Wonder project with you. The theme for those cards was for a birthday – since we are in the run up to Christmas I decided to share a Christmas themed set. This uses exactly the same layout as the birthday cards but with different colors and decoration.
I love the One Sheet Wonder (OSW) technique for making cards – basically you use one sheet of Designer Series Paper as your starting point then depending on its size you can make any number of cards.
This set is made with a 6 x 6 piece cut from a 12 x 12 sheet from the Merry Moments DSP .
Once I had chosen my paper I selected some of the colors from it – for this set ~ Real Red, Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive. The neutral layer is Very Vanilla embossed with the Lucky Stars embossing folder. Each piece of DSP was backed with card stock cut 1/4 inch wider.
I used the Lots of Joy Stamp set for all the cards and bought in variety by adding Gold Foil, Glimmer Paper and 1/8 ribbon.
This card used the Tree Punch, the ‘Jolly’ is from Christmas Greetings Thinlits Dies and the little star from the Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack ~ this is such a useful punch pack – I use it all the time. If you don’t have it you really should add it to your ‘stable’ of punches.
The greeting has been layered onto a 2″ circle of Red Glimmer Paper with a rhinestone accent. I love the ribbon used on these cards – it comes 2 in a pack – 1 real red, 1 garden green and you get 5 yds of each!!!!
The tree ornament is cut using a 1 3/8″ circle punch, then layered onto gold foil cut with 1 3/4 circle punch.
‘Merry Christmas’ was cut with extra large oval punch then layered onto 1 3/4 circle of red glimmer paper.
I hope you enjoyed the cards – let me know your thoughts below …………
