Advent Calendar – Countdown to Christmas ~ Day 12

When my friend, Elly, from the UK and I designed an advent calendar using a 24 cup mini muffin pan back in October, December seemed such a long time away!  Now we are at the half-way point of our Christmas Calendar countdown..  During December I have been sharing one of the squares each day, with a brief description of each.

You will want to open each post, as there will be a little treat behind each one!  Some days it might be some virtual ‘candy’ or sweeties as we call them in the UK, other times it might be a card, 3D project or a video!

Each of the squares start with a 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 inch base with 4 little magnets stuck to the back with glue dots.  The primary colors are  Real Red, Old Olive, Smoky Slate and Soft Sky. Ink Colors included those above, plus two neutrals of  Tip Top Taupe and Early Expresso.

Holly ~ litterly means Christmas to me (it is also the name of our youngest granddaughter!)   and the ‘Holly Berry Builder’ punch allowed us to cut these holly leaves out very quickly.  The leaves are cut from Pear Pizzazz card then sponged with a little Old Olive ink to give them some ‘life’,  then one of the Christmas Trinket Embellishments added with a glue dot.  This was layered onto 2 x 2 silver foil that had been embossed with the ‘softly falling’ embossing folder ~ very restful I think.

Gift Tags ~ always needed this time of year!  These measure 3 x 3 ~ cut 6 x 3 and scored @ 3″

I used the Warmth & Cheer 12 x 12 card stock pack – each sheet will make 8 gift tags and you get 8 sheets each of Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green in the pack.

The DSP layer is 2 3/4 x 2 3/4  from the Presents and Pinecones Pack and the greeting from the ‘ Tin of Tags’ stamp set.  Very quick to do and how lovely to give a gift with a handmade tag!

All supplies are available  24/7 from my on-line store ~ just click the picture below and it will take you right there!  Remember to use the hostess code at the top right there at check out so I can send you a thank you:-)
