Advent Calendar – Countdown to Christmas ~ Day 17

Back in October my friend, Elly, from the UK and I designed an advent calendar using a 24 cup mini muffin pan.  During December I have been sharing a square each day with a brief description on how we made it.

You will want to open each post, as there will be a little treat behind each one!  Some days it might be some virtual ‘candy’ or sweeties as we call them in the UK, other times it might be a card, 3D project or a video!

Each of the squares start with a 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 inch base with 4 little magnets stuck to the back with glue dots.  The primary colors are  Real Red, Old Olive, Smoky Slate and Soft Sky. Ink Colors included those above, plus two neutrals of  Tip Top Taupe and Early Expresso.

A very simple square for today, The Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper has such pretty designs it was a shame to do anything more that add a metallic heart and layer everything onto an Old Olive square of card~ I just love its simplicity 🙂

Like the Quality Street I shared the other day – Cadbury’s Roses are an integral part of Christmas goodies in the UK.  When Elly came to visit back in October she bought us a big drum of both!
