Stampin’ UP! has the most amazing selection of ribbons and trims ranging from twine up to 1/2 inch wide and the selection of textures and colors that coordinate with other products makes it so easy to decorate cards and other paper crafting projects. But sometimes you need a color or width that is not available, but all is not lost – in this post I am sharing how you can have ribbon in any of the colors in the Stampin’ UP! families.
You will need to start with either Whisper White or Very Vanilla ribbon – in my video I have used Whisper White in all my samples, at the bottom of the post is a link to the ribbon I used. In the video I explain that I got better results using the satin and organza ribbons, the smooth surface of the ribbon seemed to allow an even coating of ink.
Using the Stampin’ Markers you can color up a length of ribbon very quickly and better yet it dries quickly, so you can use it on your project immediately. There are other methods of coloring such as putting some ink refill in a small plastic bag then adding the ribbon and ‘smooching’ it around until it is all colored – but then you have to let it dry and more often than not run the iron over it before using, as all that ‘smooshing’ causes crinkles (unless, of course, that is the effect you are going for!)
