Multi-layered Cards ~ Pick a Pattern DSP

Last week I was ‘letting my fingers do the walking’ (showing my age quoting the old Yellow Pages advert!) and came across a post from Pootles, a UK demonstrator.  She had taken some Designer Series Paper and cut it up to create a number of very pretty layered cards.  The idea appealed to me very much – but instead of cutting up my DSP I used the scraps that were left over from previous projects. As a result I made about 2 dozen cards in total and although they followed the same formula every single one is different.

I set myself a couple of rules, the layering pieces of card must be the same color as the card base and each card needed to have 3 pieces of DSP.

Card base:  8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Basic Black Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4

Layer 1:  5 1/4 x 4 Pick a Pattern DSP

Because I used scraps it is difficult to list the sizes of each of the layers, however the black layers are 1/4″ larger than the DSP giving an 1/8″ border all round.

The ‘Thank You’ is from the Eastern Beauty Stamp Set stamped on Whisper White with Memento Black ink then cut with 1″ circle punch and layered onto Basic Black cut with 1 1/8 Scallop Circle Punch. On all the cards the 3rd layer was attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals an each card had 3 rhinestones added for bling.

This set is using the same DSP pack but this time layered onto Flirty Flamingo card.

I am so thrilled to have used up some of my scraps and to have a lovely stash of ‘thank-you cards’

Great use of scraps! The result is still professional looking cards that no one would know was made from left overs. You’ve encouraged me to pull out my scraps!
