I have probably designed around 15 different Christmas cards this year for my various classes and stamp camps – I love to work in traditional as well as modern/contemporary colors and today I am going for Night of Navy with Crumb Cake and featuring the Stars are Shining Stamp Set along with the coordinating Starlit Punch.

• Base Card: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Night of Navy Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4
• Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Basic White Card
• Layer 2: 4 x 3 Crumb Cake Card ~ cut with the 2nd to largest scalloped rectangle from the Stitched so Sweetly Dies
• Layer 3: 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 Night of Navy card ~ cut with the 3rd to largest scalloped rectangle
• Ink Color: Night of Navy and Crumb Cake

As you can see I stamped the greeting first then randomly filled my piece of Basic White Card with the stars. The Crumb Cake and and Night of Navy panels are cut using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies – since I discovered them in the Annual Catalog I find myself reaching for them all the time!

The stars are cut from the Ombre Specialty Paper using the Starlit Punch, this paper has a subtle shimmer to it and has varying shades of Night of Navy over the entire sheet. The stars attached to the card with Mini Glue Dots and Mini Stampin Dimensionals. However when I laid the stars down there was ‘something’ missing – I saw a scrap of Metallic Mesh Ribbon in my little tray and placed it beneath the stars before sticking them down – just perfect to give a little extra sparkle.
