Earlier this week my great nephew turned 13, such a difficult age to create a card for. After sorting thru my stamp sets and doing a lot of head scratching the Trucking Along Stamp Set arrived at the top of the pile – BOOYAH – all young men can relate to a truck… right?
- Base Card: 81/2 x 5 1/2 Azure Afternoon Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4
- Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Glorious Gingham Decorative Paper Pack
- Ink Color: Real Red, Early Expresso & Crumb Cake
With the decorative paper I cut a corner off, then attached it to my card base. Then I flipped the little corner piece over and attached it to the card with the alternate design showing……… what an easy way to bring texture into the card!
My little truck outline is stamped in Early Expresso Ink then I added Real Red for the bodywork and Crumb Cake ink for the tyres. The Trucking Along Stamp Set has a coordinating Truck Builder Punch so it is easy to cut out.
I have to admit I did go a little overboard with the punches on this card, layering 2 3/8, 2 and 1 3/4 ” circles to highlight my sweet little truck then the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch to cut my greeting. Not to go too crazy with embellishments I added just a few Ombre Matte Dots
