While working thru today’s video it occurred to me that there are a number of different ways to add colour to your cards stamped images or to die cut pieces. So I am using today’s card as the first in the series where I am using alcohol markers to colour my image. So look out for some more coloring techniques over the coming weeks.
Continue readingToday I am sharing a card as part of a challenge. The inspiration is a card sketch, which is always very handy if you are struggling for a starting point in your card creations. I have kept the card very simple just using Stamps, Ink and Paper with a little ribbon and some embellishments. The only piece of equipment is my paper trimmer/scorer, so you could make it with the minimum of supplies by checking out the video below.

As I have done for the last few years I am going to be sharing one at the start of each month. Like last year, I recognize not everyone is into making 3D items so have created a card for each month, using elements from the calendar for that month and included a video to show how I went about making the card.

Continue readingAs I explain in today’s video I have been experimenting with hot foiling , a technique that has been around quite a while but is new to me. As with all new techniques you have to practice to find the way it works best for you and your tools. After a morning of playing I ended up with some interesting results which I could not bring myself to just throw away, so I pulled out some other scraps of paper and card with a few embellishments and worked my way thru today’s card!
Continue readingI used a number of different simple techniques on todays card, some stamping, some stenciling and some punch art. I kinda wanted to work with neutral shades rather than bringing in colour. Although I have used a ‘thinking of you’ sort of greeting I think this design / layout would work for any occasion if you change up the greeting and you could bring in other colours as well. 🙂

Continue readingToday’s card would work for just about any occasion, birthday, thank you, get well, thinking of you, retirement, wedding, congratulations ……. yes and even for a sympathy card, simply change out the greeting and it is the perfect solution for all those occasions.
I worked on a 5 x 5 base card, but the design would easily adapt for using 1/2 sheet of A4 or Letter size card.

Continue readingOften times I have an idea for a card it could be a theme or a colour combo or a sketch. Today it was a colour combo that caught my eye and I wanted to play with it. In the video I work thru the various ideas and thoughts for pulling together a design to show the colours to their best. Although I have made this as a birthday card it would be perfect for a thank you, thinking of you, inspirational even as a sympathy card, just change out the greeting and you are good to go!
