Card Idea for a Great Niece

Welcome to my Corner of the World

I’m not at all good at making cards for children – so looking for ideas is always a challenge. However I had some ‘fairy’ digitals that I had fussy cut in my stash (why? ~ I’m not sure other than they looked so cute at the time!) and decided they would be perfect for a 5 year old. My video shows how I thought thru what to do with those cute little fairies.

Scrap Busting Birthday Card ~ Embossing Folder Technique # 6

Welcome to my Corner of the World

As explained in the video – I had some scraps on my bench – normally I would throw them away but the more I looked at them the more they were calling me to do a little something. As I switched off the camera I realised this is another embossing folder technique – a very simple one ……………. but none the less a technique 🙂

I have used a birthday greeting on this one – but I think it will work equally as well for a Thank You, Thinking of You, Get Well, Congratulations………. You could also change out the colours for a masculine themed card as well ~ whatever you need a card for and whatever stamps and papers you have in your stash !

Challenge # 222 ~ Hidden Message Card – with a Vintage Vibe

Welcome to my Corner of the World

The challenge is to create a card with a hidden message, I took that to mean there would not be a greeting on the outside but a hidden one on the inside somewhere! To add to the challenge I decided to make a masculine card and as it turner out it had a vintage sort of feel to it as well. Watch the video to see how I worked thru the ideas to come up with my finished card.

Funky Folds Hop ! ~ August 2026

Welcome to my Corner of the World

Welcome to the Funky Folds Hop ~ a community for like minded paper crafters who love to make cards with funky folds and to share our ideas. Funky actually means “modern and stylish in an unconventional or striking way” so hang onto your hats and see what the talented artisans have to offer 🙂

We don’t have a specific theme ” anything goes” it is all about the fold!! So today I am offering a “tunnel card”, that is what I am calling it anyway ~ I saw one of those fb shorts that lasted for about 30 secs which did not give any measurements but just the assembly – so in my video I work thru the steps, make a few errors and share how I work thru them!!!

If you are like me and not so good at coloring – today’s technique is a great one for you! Once again I am using some simple supplies, Stamps, Ink & Paper to create the card – so you should be able to use the idea with supplies from your own stash. Inspired by a Sketch ~ Challenge # 217

Welcome to my Corner of the World

Today I am sharing a card as part of a challenge. The inspiration is a card sketch, which is always very handy if you are struggling for a starting point in your card creations. I have kept the card very simple just using Stamps, Ink and Paper with a little ribbon and some embellishments. The only piece of equipment is my paper trimmer/scorer, so you could make it with the minimum of supplies by checking out the video below.
