As I explain in my video today, I wanted to create a masculine card using the graceful leaf die from the Nature’s Symphony Die Set. I started with a square card base and built up from there. As I was working I mused about creating a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card using the same supplies and equipment and using some of the ‘leftovers’ from my first card. Continue readingOften times I have an idea for a card it could be a theme or a colour combo or a sketch. Today it was a colour combo that caught my eye and I wanted to play with it. In the video I work thru the various ideas and thoughts for pulling together a design to show the colours to their best. Although I have made this as a birthday card it would be perfect for a thank you, thinking of you, inspirational even as a sympathy card, just change out the greeting and you are good to go!

As I explain in the video I had a new die that I wanted to use with a blending brush and ink technique, I also had 3 different kinds of ink to do some blending, so I used the opportunity to check out the different inks and end up with a pretty birthday card!

Continue readingThe challenge this time is to create a card from a sketch, I kinda like using sketches as it gives you a start to creating. During the video I am working out how things should go and the sizes for my pieces etc.
I am also continuing with my goal to use different ideas, techniques and products that I may not have used before and to that end today I used some ephemera cutouts left from another project – I am pretty happy with how it turned out !
