A few days ago I shared a scrapbook page layout where the theme was Shapes – Check it out here. I recognize not everyone is into scrapbooking so I have taken some of the elements on the page to create this thinking of you card. It very much reminds me of the ‘patchwork’ quilting I used to do many years ago 🙂

As I was sharing the dies I made a comment about the beautiful wreath die and how I would be making use of it in very short order. So today’s card does just that using one of the new specialty papers – Distressed Gold – which is absolutely stunning.

This card is a bit of a punch fest – using 3 to create the embellishments in what is a very simple card.

Continue readingThis is a very quick fun fold to make, by simply cutting a piece off the front of the card, then flipping it around and attaching it to the front! I used the Butterfly Brilliance Background stamp for this card – as it is quite a large stamp I used the Stamparatus to help me out.

Continue readingI have used the Forever Fern Stamp Set such a lot – I love those leaves and there are some lovely greetings to go along with them. Today I have paired it with the Bloom Where You’re Planted Decorative Paper, which itself has lots of leafy designs that work well with the stamps.
The ‘to a friend that makes me smile’ greeting is just so lovely – it can work for a birthday, thinking of you, get well or just because card – it just covers a host of different occasions.
Continue readingI spend a lot of time looking thru the Stampin’ UP! Annual Catalog, and I look – I really do look and then suddenly something catches my eye I had not seen before……. ????? One of those ‘somethings’ is the Picture This Dies, tucked away on page 164 – thee are two dies in the set, one will cut circles and another that cuts rectangles to create interesting effects for your cards. Each of the circles and rectangles has a ‘stitched’ edge which gives it a beautiful finish.
Once the circles are cut it is really easy to attach a piece of decorative paper to the back and here is the result………….

Continue readingI promised to share my voyage in learning how to use Stampin’ Blends. In this 6th video in the series, I share how to color ribbon to match your project and features the utterly cute Nuts about Squirrels Stamp Set.
I have shared before that often my ribbon drawer is the starting point for choosing colors for my projects but sometimes there just isn’t the color I need ! No problem ~ I can color up some of my own! As I explain in my video, today’s card is to welcome my great-niece into the family and I was looking for something cute but not pink so Pale Papaya and Calypso Coral it is and although I designed it for a new baby I think it would work for just about any occasion!
Continue readingSometimes we need a sympathy card, I know I have had to send out a some in the last couple of months, but it gives me a sense that at least I have done ‘something’ to acknowledge the loss a family is feeling.
It is difficult to judge what colors to use, black, or dark colors versus something a little brighter, I pondered on this and decided to go with Very Vanilla and Just Jade and use the peaceful trail of leaves from the Very Versailles Stamp Set.
