Layering Leaves~ #SimpleStamping

Today I have gone right back to basics with some Card, Ink and Stamps………….. and a little bling, of course!!! Sometimes I can get so wrapped up in fancy colds or techniques that I can forget the pleasure of just simply using color to create texture, so I cracked out my Blending Brushes, the Layering Leaves Stamps set and a couple of ink pads!

July 4th card using Elegant Borders Dies

Welcome to my Corner of the World

Now we are in June my thoughts are turning to cards to celebrate July 4th ~ Independance Day here in the US. I have taken a slightly different approach for today’s card using some slightly muted Red, White and Blue and using the Elegant Border Dies to create the ‘stripes’. I think this would make a great graduation card ~ simply swap out the red and blue for the school colors!

Around the Bend 7 x 5 Inspirational Card with Video Tutorial

I don’t usually make big cards, partly because of the extra postage we have to pay here in the US. So I have always stuck to making them with 1/2 sheet of 11 x 8 1/2 card with the finished card size of 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. Then I received a card from a friend – it was bigger than 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 but still had the regular first class stamp. So I did a little research and found that I could send a max size of 7 x 5 for the same first class stamp – so today’s card is just that size!!

Tropical Leaf Gatefold Any Occasion Card

So I am a little behind with posting these cards as some of the papers retired at the beginning of this month, however the gatefold fancy fold is great fun and you can choose any of the decorative papers in your stash, pick out one or two colors and recreate this card, I just love that Tropical Leaf Stamp Set!………. oh and did I mention there is a video to go along with it?
