I seem to start a lot of my posts expressing my amazement on where we are in the year ~ next week will be Thanksgiving here in the US!! Today’s card uses the Pretty Pumpkin Stamp Set pairing Bermuda Bay with Soft Seafoam ~ some non-traditional colors which I think work very well together if you are looking to create something a little unusual.

Continue readingThis is the second in the series of seasonal samplers I was asked to design for a class. Home decor is a particular favorite of mine, I just love to pull together the different elements, experimenting with different textures and colors until I trip over the ‘right’ combination.
I resisted the temptation to use the ‘traditional’ autumn/fall colors of cajun craze and pumpkin pie, although I did not use any of the papers, the color combination was inspired by the Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper so you will see Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and the different shade of gold in the Brushed Metallic Card.

Continue readingSometimes a piece of decorative paper just tells you what you need to do with it! One of the designs in the Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper Pack did just that when I clapped eyes on it – by simply cutting it into 6 pieces I had a 6 card front layers ready to attach to a card base! . This particular paper has beautiful plant designs and needed no more than a simple greeting to finish it off, a quick and easy card if you are in a rush.
Continue readingI spend a lot of time looking thru the Stampin’ UP! Annual Catalog, and I look – I really do look and then suddenly something catches my eye I had not seen before……. ????? One of those ‘somethings’ is the Picture This Dies, tucked away on page 164 – thee are two dies in the set, one will cut circles and another that cuts rectangles to create interesting effects for your cards. Each of the circles and rectangles has a ‘stitched’ edge which gives it a beautiful finish.
Once the circles are cut it is really easy to attach a piece of decorative paper to the back and here is the result………….
Continue readingI love a fun fold card and I have a personal mission to ensure I used my decorative paper in my card making. Today’s card meets both of those plus I have a lovely thanksgiving card as a result, plus it will fit into a standard 5 3/4 x 4 3/8 envelope for easy posting!
I have also used several techniques that I have used before, coloring with Stampin’ Blends and heat embossing – if you scroll down a little you will see links to post and videos I have made about those……. enjoy!

Continue readingI am doing it again ~ using my Designer Series Paper!!! This time I have pared the Color and Contour Stamp Set with Harvest Meadow DSP.
Each time a new catalog is launched I look at Punches, Ribbon and then the DSP before anything else. Now you may be wondering what I mean by DSP………. basically it is double-sided decorated paper similar to that used for scrapbook layouts – and I have used it for this but it also works to decorate your handmade greeting cards.
Continue readingWhen Stampin’ UP! announced it was introducing the Stamparatus (stamp positioning tool) into its paper crafting tools I was sooooo excited, I was even more excited when I was offered the opportunity to be part of the design ‘team’ during the development phases. Since its release I have used it so much and have a series of videos sharing various techniques for this ‘oh so handy’ tool.
Today’s card is a simple one but has a few techniques, including the Stamparatus, creating greeting banners without punches or dies and a pretty bow tied with the Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon. Read on to find the links to each of these…………….
