It was my dear Mum’s birthday at the beginning of August, her favorite colors have always been Navy Blue and Cream, so this was the starting point for the card I made for her.  As she lives in the UK I needed to ensure that the card would be light enough to mail, without to much bulk from pearls or rhinestones.  Those of you who know me also know I love bling on my my cards, this is where glimmer paper comes in very handy!!!

A little something to share with you……..

During the Stampin’ Up Convention last month we were introduced to the new Holiday catalog……….. it is absolutely amazing and has lots of lovely new products, seasonal stamp sets, papers, embellishments, punches.

One of the perks of being a Stampin’ Up demonstrator is that we get to order from the new catalogs a month early so that we have time to play and have ideas waiting for YOU when the catalog goes live.  Now …… you’re probably getting just a little bit envious.

Votive Treat Box ~ video tutorial

When I was at the Stampin’ Up convention in July I signed up to join in with an ‘organized swap’

It was for a 3D treat holder and the requirements were that it should hold a treat and be an original design if possible.  As I love to make boxes I knew that would be the base of my ‘treat’ but I also wanted to show a technique – after all I was going to be giving my treat to fellow stampers/papercrafters so I wanted it to have a bit of a WOW factor.

I made this card for my customers who have an August Birthday but I also needed a card for a friend who had recently lost a family member.  Looking at the card design I realized I could make it work for both purposes.  There is a little bit of stamping but it relies on the embellishments for impact.

New Events added to Calendar

calendarI have updated my calendar of events with my classes and stamp camps.    Including the One Sheet Wonder Stamp Camp on August 7th or 8th….. there is still time to register for this!!

There are lots of new things to choose from, so click on the ‘Calendar’ tab at the top of the page and let me know what which class(es) you would like join me.

This includes my new classes which I have called ‘Clean and Simple Stack o’Cards – perfect for folks new to card crafting OR those who would love to make and send handmade cards but don’t want to have all the ‘stuff’ 🙂
