So it is customary to make a small gift for each of your roomies…… well I have been in a calendar making mode for several months now and decided since it is early January, a calendar would be a good start for my gift. I have also made a number of hostess and thank you gifts over the Christmas holidays using the 1/2 size Wood Stamp Storage Boxes from Stampin’ Up. Continue reading

Blooming with Kindness card for retirement
A friend recently retired from a lifetime of nursing, you cannot let such an occasion pass by without a card being made and sent!
My December Card Class ladies will recognise this design which we made as a thank you card, however the design works for most any occasion.
Blueberry Pie ~ party favors
I always think blue, silver and white as New Year colors ~ not exclusively though, as I also have a Christmas tree decorated with ornaments in those colors.
I wanted to make some party favours for New Year and decided to use an idea of Connie Stewart’s from Simply Simple Stamping to make them in the shape of a slice of pie,and since I was using different shades of blue I have dubbed it ‘blueberry pie’ Continue reading

Decorated Gift Bag and Tissue
This time of year we are wrapping gifts in preparation for the Big Day. I gave up wrapping in paper several years ago…. the shapes were too weird to wrap neatly or the parcels looked too lumpy and unappetising!. I started to use gift bags and tissue paper, a much quicker and easier (and neater!) solution.
Gift bags and tissue can be expensive so I buy plain bags from the craft stores and plain tissue from the dollar store ( 40 sheets for $1) Then I get out my inks and stamp sets and decorate to my hearts’ content.
I have a number of hostess gifts this year so this is the bag/tissue combination I have been working on today…..
The stamp set is Joyful Christmas and I used Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Crushed Curry inks. Now I have some lovely, elegant gifts to take with me.
I hope this gives you an idea for your future gift wrapping……..

Gift Card Set ~ using Stampin Up’s Afternoon Picnic DSP
Inspired by the set I made by dear friend last week (which she loved!) I decided to make a second one as a hostess gift for the upcoming holidays.
This one uses the same two stamp sets as the one I made last week, Best of Shelli’ and ‘Petite Pairs’ but I used the ‘Afternoon Picnic’ DSP with Wisteria Wonder and Pear Pizzazz Cardstock and inks. Pretty pleased with the result!
Petite Pairs is a very versatile stamp set – with sentiments covering most occasions, one for the outside of your card and a complementary sentiment for the inside….. it is one of my ‘go-to’ sets when designing my cards.
Like the recipe for this card set? Simply ‘follow’ my blog, ‘like’ and ‘comment’ on this post and I will be happy to send it to you 🙂
In the meantime, Happy Stamping !

Gift Card Set ~ using Stampin’ Up’s Venetian Romance DSP
A dear friend is celebrating a milestone birthday later this month, but she doesn’t want any fuss, no buying of presents, parties or cake etc. Well I certainly cannot let such an occasion pass me completely by, so ……………
I love to make cards and 3D items, so the project I chose as my gift to her brings both of these aspects of paper crafting together! She is an avid letter writer so I decided to make her a set of 10 cards in a neat little folder. I have met her restriction of not ‘buying’ anything – ‘cos I made it all of materials I had in my ‘stash’.
My three main colors are Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe and Soft Suede. All the sentiments were stamped in Island Indigo with some sponging in Soft Suede. These are the colors in the Venetion Romance DSP I chose to use.
The sentiments were from ‘Petite Pairs’ stamp set and the Artisan Label Punch used to layer them.
Each card was stamped with the ‘swirly’ image from the ‘Best of Shelli’ 25th anniversary set.
The front cover of the folder used ‘Chalk Talk’ stamp and matching framelits.
If you ‘follow’ ~ ‘like’ and ‘comment’ on this post I will happily send you the recipe for this set of cards with the matching holder. Not a bad deal…….. !!!!
