Earlier this year I made a promise to myself to use and not hoard my Designer Series Paper – I have a shared a number of cards over the last few months showing how I am making good on my promise. As a demonstrator for Stampin’ Up products I am always looking for good ideas and I while I try not to copy exactly, I do try to put my own twist on them. The cards I am sharing over the next couple of days are based on an idea from Patty Bennett, which is perfect for my on-going commitment to break out my DSP!

Shoe Box Swap ~ my card
Since I hosted a paper share earlier last month it made me think a lot more about using it instead of saving it. I am not at all sure what I am saving it for, but I just see a sheet that I love and just cannot bring myself to cut into that pristine 12 x 12 piece of loveliness – so my resolution from now on is to use it!
Back in February I was invited to a shoe box swap – never done one before and was not at all sure what I had committed to…….. but once I had, I decided the focus of my card was to be Designer Series Paper! I shared a bunch of cards from other ‘stamper’s in earlier posts.
Shoe Box Swap # 5 ~ Hearts and Home Thinlit Dies
This card uses the very popular Hearth and Home Thinlits Dies which gives us a cozy view from a window at the hills and lake beyond. It also continues my theme of digging into my stash of Designer series paper, this time the Love Blossoms DSP Paper stack which I used a lot for my valentine projects but works very well for this card. Happy Easter ~ to all my lovely readers!
This is a perfect card to celebrate Easter – light and joyful colors and the cutest little spring lamb giving us a cheeky look. This is another card from the Shoe Box swap from last month – I saved sharing it until today…. and it is using more from the DSP stash!!
Shoe Box Swap # 2 ~ Stampin’ Up
Continuing my theme of using Designer series paper, here is another card from the shoe box swap, it features one of the designs from the ‘Cherry on the Top’ Paper stack – a very handy 6 x 6 pack that gives you 4 sheets of 12 double sided designs in lovely bright colors.
Shoe Box Swap ~ Stampin’ Up
Late last month I was invited to a shoe box swap – never done one before and was not at all sure what I had committed to…….. but it sounded interesting and as it turned out I had a great time.
Each person who joins the swap designs a card and prepares supplies for everyone ~ 15 in this case! – we then make up the cards and leave with lots of different cards and ideas. It was fun but making 15 cards in about 2 hours was a challenge!
Break out your DSP! ~ Stampin’ Up
This is a very quick card to make – and I just love its simplicity, all the detail is in the decorative designer series paper and this time I have chosen to use the exclusive DSP from the Sale-a-bration catalog – which is FREE with a $50 order ~ that is until March 31st and then it will be gone for good!!!
Designer Series Paper Share ~ Stampin Up Occasions Catalog
The first share is now ready to go to their new homes! This is the perfect way to get your hands on a little of all the DSP’s from the new 2016 Occasions catalog, without breaking the bank!
Over the next few days I will share some cards made using the DSP – it is there to be used ~ not hoarded!!!!!!

Roomie Gifts ~ using Stampin’ Up’s Wood Mount Cases
So it is customary to make a small gift for each of your roomies…… well I have been in a calendar making mode for several months now and decided since it is early January, a calendar would be a good start for my gift. I have also made a number of hostess and thank you gifts over the Christmas holidays using the 1/2 size Wood Stamp Storage Boxes from Stampin’ Up. Continue reading
