Today’s card was made for a very special friend, another UK ex-pat who I have known long before we both moved to the US. I was unable to visit her for 3 years, but this year I got to celebrate her birthday with her in PA – so naturally an extra-special card was needed!

I used a number of different techniques, sponging, embossing, die-cutting as well as some of the particularly luxurious materials , such as Gold Foil, Shimmer Vellum and Gilded Leaf embellishment

Faux Watercolor Technique with Partial Embossing.

I have a few techniques to share with just one card!! The first one is a faux watercolor technique using different ink colors, partial dry embossing where some parts of the card are embossed and others are not and as a finale – how to use your punch to create an alternate size label! Coloring Vellum with Blending Brushes ~ Super Elegant Card

Blendering Brushes were added to the Stampin’ UP! tool chest at the beginning of this year and I have loved using them! This is the third technique I have shared featuring them and this time I am using the Square Vellum Doilies to show how you can make them any color to match your project.

I am also featuring the ‘soon to be retired’ Shimmer Paint, using it to produce a rich sheen to a piece of Very Vanilla Card as a background to the vellum……. and there is a video showing you how to do both techniques.!!
