Today’s card was made for a very special friend, another UK ex-pat who I have known long before we both moved to the US. I was unable to visit her for 3 years, but this year I got to celebrate her birthday with her in PA – so naturally an extra-special card was needed!

I used a number of different techniques, sponging, embossing, die-cutting as well as some of the particularly luxurious materials , such as Gold Foil, Shimmer Vellum and Gilded Leaf embellishment

• Base Card: 11 x 8 1/2 Fresh Freesia Card ~ scored @ 3 5/8 from each end along the 11″ side
• Layer 1: 8 1/4 x 3 3/8 Basic White Card run thru the Cut and Emboss Machine with the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder
• Layer 2: Fresh Freesia Shimmer Vellum cut with Scalloped Contours Dies
• Ink Color: Fresh Freesia

The front basic white panel is 8 1/4″ long however the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder is 6″ long – so I ran the layer thru the Cut and Emboss machine twice, rather than try to match up the design I left about a 3/8 gap, added a strip of Tape and Tear double sided tape then added some Gilded Leaf embellishment.

The inside layer, I sponged with one of the Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks and a Blending Brush, as with the Embossing Folder the decorative mask is only 6″ long so I centered it on my card then ‘topped and tailed’ the card with the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder. There is not a lot of stamping, just the greetings which are from the Pansy Patch and Garden Wishes Stamp Sets.
