A Touch of Vintage ~ Graceful Garden

In 2006 our Best Man got married himself.  The wedding was held in a Scottish Castle which had its own private chapel where the service was held.  All the guests and the Groom gathered in the gardens and we were led to the chapel by a piper in full Scottish dress.  The bride arrived with her own piper a few  moments later.   I just love the bagpipes (not to everyones’ taste I know) but  Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II and I do!

It was a memorable day and each year I send them a card to commemorate their lovely day, this year I chose a rose from the Graceful Garden Stamp Set and the greeting is from the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set.

Good Day Baby Card

Ooppss………………. I did it again!  A new baby arrived in the neighborhood and I STILL don’t have any new baby stamp sets!  So once again I have improvised and found a couple of really cute images in the Good Day stamp set that fit the occasion perfectly….. and coupled with the Balloon Bouquet punch I feel happy with the result. Graceful Garden ~ Inspired by Paper Pumpkin

Today’s card was inspired by one of the designs in March’s Paper Pumpkin kit which has a lovely vintage theme going on.  So I have chosen to use  Fresh Fig and Crumb Cake with the Graceful Garden Stamp set and lots of sponging.

One of the greetings in the stamp set says  ‘for you’ I think this is such a simple message that can be used for just about any occasion, birthday, thank you, anniversay, sympathy……. and so on.

Painted Harvest Lions

We have a brand new Occasions catalog but we can still get the Painted Harvest Stamp Set and that really cute Cat Punch, both of which I used to create this card.  I used the one of the greetings from the stamp set but it would make a perfect birthday card for a child I think.  This card also uses a couple of products from my stash that get overlooked, the Starburst Punch and the Wood Texture DSP Stack.

Thoughts and Prayers ~ Stampin’ UP!

Sympathy cards are the one type of card that we would really not have to make but they are probably the ones that bring the most comfort to the recipient ~ they know someone is thinking of them at a difficult time in their life.

The Thoughts and Prayers stamp set is a one  to have in your stash, not only is it suitable for bereavement it also has some lovely sentiments for get well and thinking of you…. and what can I say about the two images – one the most elegant tree and the other a lovely ‘swooshy’ flowery branch – which I have used on an anniversary card before. I’m back………………..

Tax season is over, I’m back at my work bench and normal service is about to resume!!!!!

I apologize for not posting very much in the last 5 – 6 weeks, been very busy helping the nation file their taxes ( did not actually get ours filed until late on the night of the 14th ~ bit too close for my liking, prefer to get them done by mid-March!)

But while  I have not had time to post I have had some time to make and have some things to share with you over the coming days………………

Stamp Set of the Month to the rescue

You cannot always get notice of the need for a card, so having some ‘cards to hand’ is always a good thing.  We had a bereavement in my husband’s family, as we live so far away, we will not be able to attend the services but at least we can let them know we are  thinking of them.

Last July’s stamp set of the month was Flowering Flourishes and  I made a  series of cards which did not have any sentiment so could be used for most any occasion.
