My April card class used the Sheltering Tree stamp set ~ I used it for a double layer stamping technique but also wanted to show how the lovely set could be used for all of the seasons. While we did a summer theme in the class I made up Spring, Autumn and Winter as well.
This is a great stamp set as it has lots of ‘pieces’ so that you can build a different picture for each season.
Here are all 4 together:
Card Base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/5 Whisper White, Scored @ 4 1/4
Layer 1: 3 1/4 x 31/4 Baked Brown Sugar Card
Layer 2: 3 x 3 Whisper White card
All the ‘tree trunk and branches were stamped in Baked Brown Sugar Ink
Spring: Blushing Bride ink to represent the blossom on the tree, with little splashes of Wild Wasabi for the emerging leaves and Basic Gray for the swing. The bow used Blushing Bride 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon.
Summer: The blossom is being over taken by the new leaves, Pear Pizzazz ink was used for the leaves and Coral Chalk Ink for the blossom. The bicycle frame was stamped in the same coral chalk ink and Basic Gray for the wheels. A length of Blushing Bride bakers twine finished off this card.
Autumn: So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie inks for this one, the little rake was stamped in Black Memento ink then ‘fussy cut’ before sticking to card with a tiny piece of Stampin’ Dimensional.
Winter: I stamped the tree twice with this one, once with full strength ink the second time stamping without re-inking. The stamp set has a little ‘snowflake’ image which I stamped randomly in Silver Metallic and Coastal Cabana ink. The ‘swish’ at the base of each tree is also in Silver Metallic Ink. The sentiment was stamped in Black Memento Ink on Coastal Cabana ink then trimmed and adhered to the card with Stampin Dimensionals.
A very versatile stamp set, I think you would agree…..please let me know your comments, I love to get feedback………..
Happy Stamping 🙂
