I had an honorary aunt, she was my Mum’s best friend, who had known me since I was about 6 years old, I always called her Aunt as a sign of love and respect and continued to do so even into my mid 50’s when we lost her.
She used to have an expression she called ‘footeling’ which basically was doing something without a clear direction or purpose….. but simply to do!
So …………………… I was footeling around with some of the new In-colors card, inks and punches the other day and came up with this card………..
I used 2 Stampin’ Up! stamp sets ‘Papillon Potpourri’ for the butterflies and the greeting came from ‘Wetlands’ ( just love the font and sentiments of the greeting stamps in this set)
Base card: 11 x 5 1/4 Watermelon Wonder, scored at 5 1/2
Layer : 5 1/4 x 4 Tip Top Taupe
Ink Colors: Tip Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder
I stamped the butterflies onto the Tip Top Taupe layer in the same ink color (tone-on-tone) before running thru the Big Shot with the Decorative Dots embossing folder.
The butterfly is cut from Pink Pirouette using the Butterfly Thinlits Die and the edges sponged with Watermelon Wonder Ink. It was then attached to a Tea Lace Paper Doily with a stampin’ dimensional~ then onto the card.
Yes…. I know it is way over the top, I kind of just kept adding stuff to see where it would go! But that is where footeling takes you.
Here are the main supplies used:
