Flowering Flourishes is another of those stamp sets that lend itself to almost any occasion – and the occasion this time is my Mum-in-Law’s birthday. She is about to celebrate her 94th birthday and pinks are her favorite color.
It was my dear Mum’s birthday at the beginning of August, her favorite colors have always been Navy Blue and Cream, so this was the starting point for the card I made for her. As she lives in the UK I needed to ensure that the card would be light enough to mail, without to much bulk from pearls or rhinestones. Those of you who know me also know I love bling on my my cards, this is where glimmer paper comes in very handy!!!

For all Things contains images and words that you would normally use for Thanksgiving and the Autumn. It has the most beautiful spray of leaves which makes a lovely focal point on a card. I paired this with the birthday wishes from the Wetlands stamp set and am thrilled with the result.
I had an honorary aunt, she was my Mum’s best friend, who had known me since I was about 6 years old, I always called her Aunt as a sign of love and respect and continued to do so even into my mid 50’s when we lost her.
She used to have an expression she called ‘footeling’ which basically was doing something without a clear direction or purpose….. but simply to do!
So …………………… I was footeling around with some of the new In-colors card, inks and punches the other day and came up with this card………..
This is the final chance to get your hands on this really pretty stamp set ~ Painted Petals’ I have featured it on a number of posts and it retires on June 2nd!
