This stamp set did not really appeal for me until I saw it when I was at the Stampin’ Up Inspire, Create, Share event in Salt Lake City back in July.
It has stamps that work for Halloween, Thanksgiving/Fall and Christmas – all three of the major holidays. I have used this set a lot in my classes over the last couple of months and have been sharing them with you over the last few days.
and finally – Christmas………………… This has contemporary colors of black and white with silver rather than the traditional green and red, but I like to throw in a little change now and then.
This card features heat embossing, the little snowflakes are embossed in silver on the vellum layer and the ‘making’ spirits bright’ is embossed in silver on black card.
Base card : 8 1/2 x 4 1/4 Basic Black ~ scored at 4 1/4
Layer 1 and insert: 5 1/4 x 4 Whisper White card
Layer 2 : White vellum card stock
Ink colors ~ Versamark and Archival Basic Black Ink
This time I paired the set with Lovely as a Tree stamp set – I don’t think I have missed a Christmas when this set did not make an appearance on at least one of my cards. I used the Archival ink to stamp onto layer one, as well as the envelope, before attaching to black card base.
The little snowflake used to emboss the vellum card is part of the Among the Branches stamp set. The vellum layer was attached to the card with 3 – 4 glue dots placed underneath the snowflakes so they would not show!
Making Spirits Bright was punched with the 2″ circle punch then layered onto some Smoky Slate card punched with the 2 3/8 scalloped circle punch, then attached with stampin dimensionals.
As a final flouring some of the lovely silver cording and an Iced Rhinestone.
