Irresistibly Floral Card ~ Stampin’ Up! Products

I love heat embossing ~ it just has to be one of my most favorite techniques, but when you add the ‘resist’ part of the technique it really gives a punch to the finished project.  Sometimes, though it is nice not to have to do the heat embossing and just go onto the ‘resist’…. and the Irresistibly Floral Specialty Designer Paper a perfect solution!  I wanted to showcase this gorgeous paper in a recent class and here is the card we all  made…………………

The paper pack contains 6 different designs of the  pre-embossed paper and we used 3 of them in the card.

Base:  11 x 4 1/4 Dapper Denim Card ~ scored @ 5 1/2

Stripy Layer:  5 1/4 x 3

Circle Layer: 2 x 4 ~ layered on 4 1/4 x 2 1/4 Soft Sky Card

Flowery Layer: 2 x 2 ~ layered on 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 Soft Sky Card

Ink Colors: Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Dapper Denim

Using the Sponge Brayer it is a snap to put a even layer of ink on each piece of resist paper.  Each set comes with 2 handles and 4 sponge rollers, perfect for applying the 3 ink colors.  They are a snap to clean up after use, just run under running water until it runs clear, squeeze well then leave to air dry overnight.

I used Fast Fuse to attach all the layers together – they needed a little stronger adhesive as the resist paper is quite thick.  A strip of the lovely rauched Dapper Denim ribbon and Metal Rimmed Pearls and we were done…………….. perfect for a thank you or birthday card.
