Back in October my friend, Elly, from the UK and I designed an advent calendar using a 24 cup mini muffin pan. During December I will share one of the squares, with a brief description of each.
You will want to open each post, as there will be a little treat behind each one! Some days it might be some virtual ‘candy’ or sweeties as we call them in the UK, other times it might be a card, 3D project or a video!
Each of the squares start with a 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 inch base with 4 little magnets stuck to the back with glue dots. The primary colors are Real Red, Old Olive, Smoky Slate and Soft Sky. Ink Colors included those above, plus two neutrals of Tip Top Taupe and Early Expresso.
Day 16 brings us a huge scrummy bow made from the Real Red 3/4 Stitched Edge Ribbon ~ it has such presence that it deserved a square all to itself!
The bow was layered onto a 2 x 2 of the Candy Cane Lane DSP then onto Old Olive to make everything POP. We could not resist tucking one of the Mini Jingle Bells in there to just finish it off.
Today’s Virtual Treat:
I just love the elegance of this card – Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White and Silver.
Base Card: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored @ 4 1/4
Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Whisper White, run thru the Big Shot with the softly Falling embossing folder
Ink Color: Elegant Eggplant
The stars are cut using the Starlight Thinlets Dies (with the Big Shot) and the greeting comes from the Star of Light Stamp Set. (You can buy them separately or in a bundle and save 10%!) ~ then layered onto a 2″ circle of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper! I have used this stamp set and die bundle an awful lot this year, – it just has to be one of my favorites 🙂
