Happy Anniversary – Freezer Paper Technique

Dear, sweet friends celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary earlier this month –  30 years is a wonderful achievement and needed something special ~ pink is one of her favorite colors so Pink Pirouette is the main color for the card, highlighted with Rose Red.  I used the freezer paper technique to create this one.

Card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Pink Pirouette Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4, run thru the Big Shot with the Falling Petals Embossing Folder,

Layer 1: 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 Rose Red Card

Layer 2: 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 Whisper White

The freezer paper technique is basically a stencil made from Freezer Paper.  This has a shiny side which will stick to the card when heated with an iron.  I used the Bloomin Heart thinlet die to cut my stencil then carefully ironed it onto the card.

Using  some Rose Red ink I gently sponged some color in the center of the piece, then changed to Pink Pirouette ink to take the color out to the edge of the white card.  Using a piercing tool I gently lifted a couple of edges of the stencil and gently peeled it off, leaving the soft image behind.

The flowers are from the same framelit set, using Rose Red card with rhinestones in the  center.

I resisted the temptation of putting a sentiment on the front – I figured I could put everything I wanted to say inside 🙂
