Yesterday was the birthday of our youngest grand-daughter, I wanted something that was a little bit of fun and entertaining for a 2 year old and decided on a penny spinner card. These are really easy to do with Sliding Star Framelits and Big Shot.
I naturally tend toward pink for the girls but for today I chose lovely bright Daffodil Delight – such a cheerful color.
Card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Daffodil Delight Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4,
Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Whisper White
Generally I try to create a card using a single stamp set, so unusually for me I used three different stamp sets, Thankful Life, a host set from the Occasions Catalog, Brushwork Alphabet for the letters (cut out with 3/4 circle punch) and the greeting from Sunburst Sayings.
The Foam Adhesive strips were used to attach the white layer to the card base, this gave a great ‘gap’ to insert the penny which allows the ‘Happy Birthday’ to spin when the card is moved from side to side.
I hope you like today’s project – please let me know in a comment ~ by using that little link just under the title.
