September 10th 1973 was the first day of my first ever job, 44 years ago today I joined the ranks of those working for a living! I clearly remember that day including what I wore and the first paycheck I received the following week!
Another, more recent, first being celebrated in our family is Grand-daughter #3’s first day at school tomorrow – the last few years have simply flown by – it is hard to believe she is now a ‘school girl’ and not a baby any longer.
There is the perfect piece in the Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper for a card to recognize this milestone and I could not resist using it to make and send her a card.
Card base: 11 x 4 1/4 Flirty Flamingo Card ~ scored @ 5 1/2
Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Pick a Pattern DSP, it has the pens, brushes, ruler etc
Ink Color: Flirty Flamingo
I used the Brushwork Alphabet stamp set to spell out the name, punched with the 1″ circle punch then layered onto 1 1/4 circle from the Silver Foil Card.
I did not have a suitable stamp for the greeting so ran up something on my computer then used the Best Badge Punch because it kinda reminded me of the badge from the school I left 44 years ago! I layered this onto the Silver Foil cut with the Starburst Punch then topped off with a bow using 3/8 Striped Grosgrain Ribbon from the Annual Catalog.
The little enamel shapes retired at the end of May, I still had a few of them in my stash but the Glitter Acrylic Shapes will work just as well (see below for the link)
