Creating Pretty Cards # 78 ~ Star of Light

Each month in addition to the great 3D projects that Craft Project Central has for you, they also host a monthly card challenge – Creating Pretty Cards!!

To help you recreate the sketch each month, they also provide a free Sketch Mini Tutorial! This mini tutorial has information about how the inspiration card (using the sketch) was created, supplies used, and basic measurements!!

Here is the December Sketch:

And here is my take on it:

Card base: 11 x 4 1/4 Cherry Cobbler Card ~ scored @ 5 1/2

Layer 1:  5 1/4 x 4 Very Vanilla Card

Ink Color: Cherry Cobbler and Sahara Sand

I used the Star of Light stamp set with the coordinating Starlight Thinlets for this card.  If you look closely you can just about see the super elegant ‘starry swish’ stamp flowing between the two snowflakes which were cut from Cherry Cobbler Card.  A 1 3/8 circle of Copper Foil was placed behind the large snowflake to give it a bit more ‘body’  and  then some clear Wink of Stella liquid glitter on both the snowflakes.   For my horizontal strips I chose to use one of the designs from the Year of Cheer Specialty Washi tape and added a scattering of rhinestones to finish off.
