Today’s card is another in my Sweet and Simple series where I have set myself a little challenge using a small amount of equipment and supplies – kind of like one of those cookery shows where you are given 3 or 4 ingredients and you have to turn it into a spectacular 4 course meal!
Last week our daughter-in-law celebrated a birthday, she lives in the UK with her family so we don’t get to see her too often. Since last week was spring break for the schools in the UK, she, our son and their daughters went on holiday to one of the islands off the coast of Spain – making a really lovely birthday treat!
The stamp set is Beautiful You – I have had this in my stash for some time but this is the first time I have used it, it has three images of women and a number of greetings and is perfect for this occasion.
Card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Berry Burst Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4
Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Whisper White Card
Layer 2: 4 x 2 1/4 Berry Burst Card
Layer 3: 4 x 2 Fresh Florals DSP (sadly retired on Friday – but alternatives are available in the new catalog)
Layer 4: 4 x 2 1/4 Berry Burst Card
Layer 5: 3 3/4 x 2 Whisper White Card
Ink Color: Berry Burst and Tuxedo Black Memento.
I used one of the new punches Detailed Trio to create the eyelet design on layer 5 and that was the only ‘decorative’ element ~ no ribbon or bling…………. very strange for me, I know! All layers were attached with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and layer 4/5 attached with 4-5 Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I repeated the design for the inside of the card as well as the envelope. I really like the finished card and hope our daughter-in-law did as well.
Thank you for stopping by – I hope you like today’s project, (which was inspired by a card on Pinterest, because of ‘multiple pinning’ I was unable to track back to find the original creator to thank her for sharing) – please let me know in a comment ~ by using that little link just under the title.
