Abstract Impressions ~ Kindness Changes Everything

Forty-Five years ago today I started  my first ever job!  I remember quite clearly exactly what I wore, my Mum giving me a packed lunch and me catching the bus into the local town.  The day flew by, I caught the bus home, Mum gave me a cup of tea and I promptly fell asleep in the chair – totally exhausted.

I look back at every job I have done since that day and the opportunities I was given and those I earned thru hard work (it was not easy being a girl engineer in the 70’s and 80’s) – but I appreciated then, as now, the encouragement and kindness I was shown by a lot of people along the way – today’s card reflects that.

Fairy Celebration and Stampin’ Blends ~ Birthday Card

This week has been a big one for my Great-Niece, she turned 5 on Tuesday and started ‘Big’ school on the same day.  She is a cute little character and according to her mother, fearless.  I am not quite sure a fairy is a good choice for her birthday card but I do have a photo of her in a little pink dress with a tulle skirt – so I figure she does have a ‘girly’ side to her.

The Fairy Celebration Stamp Set is perfect for coloring and a perfect chance for me to get out my Stampin’ Blends and get my coloring on!

Rooted in Nature Birthday for a Guy

Last week was my eldest nephew’s birthday, he is now in his early 30’s and lives in the UK –  I find it hard to make cards for the fella’s in my life but the Rooted in Nature stamp set gives me a great choice of ‘suitable for a guy’ images and words without being ‘too sappy’!

I used a masking technique to create the card along with my Sponge Brayer to apply the ink ‘ombre’ style.

Holiday Catalog Sneak Peak ~ Take Your Pick

Tomorrow – September 5th, the 2018 Holiday Catalog goes live! I have shared a stamp set or two and today I am giving you a sneak peak at another new tool that Stampin’ UP! has introduced….. the ‘Take Your Pick” ~ a multipurpose pick up and precision tool that has a putty tip to pick up sequins and beads, a paper piercer, mini spatula, perfect for picking up and placing pearls and rhinestones and a small and large stylus which can be used for scoring your card or softening or cupping your card to create a 3D effect.
